WHO AM I

My name is Nadya from the awesome state of New York! I am your sketching engineer!
Simply said, I love creating things, from sketches to paintings and everything I do to keep the creative juices flowing. Here, you will find my various endeavors in art including my travel sketchbooks, my paintings, and many more.

HOW DID I GET INTO IT
​
Back in 2012, I discovered the urban sketchers community and I realized that I really liked what they did. Keeping a daily sketchbook helped improve my art and this motivated me to draw more and more.
In 2012, I had a basic knowledge of art. I had studied briefly as a child more traditional mediums of art like pastels or charcoal, but most of these made art feel so out of reach. I could not create a drawing in 10 minutes and be satisfied with the result with these mediums. But among the urban sketchers community, this is much more feasible. Just grab a pen, sketchbook, maybe some watercolors with a brush, and you're all set.

Since then, I have become more and more involved in what I have done with my art. I carry a sketchbook almost all the time. I discovered fountain pens! I have a growing collection of watercolor travel sets. And its hard for me to walk out of an art store empty-handed.
